Digi invites suitably qualified candidates to submit applications to fill the following vacant post:

“Chief Financial Officer”

in its Finance Division with duty station in “Belize City”

 

JOB PURPOSE:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Management team and will provide the financial leadership to effectively manage Digi’s core business whilst facilitating the strategic and operational guidance to foster profitable growth in this changing telecom landscape. 

As a key business partner to the Senior Leadership team, the successful candidate will guide long range financial strategies, develop expectations around operational performance indicators, and embrace an entrepreneurial spirit to identify and inform on new business opportunities.

 

QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • An MBA with a CPA is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years’ experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles and managing a team is a must – with examples of when you have demonstrated excellence in the workplace.
  • A CFO must display a cohesive ability at interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written. They must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgement.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Organizational Leadership

  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on issues affecting the organization such as evaluation of potential expansion, significant contract negotiations amongst other deliverables.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on issues affecting the organization; i.e., operating and capital budgets, policy development, development/expansion, contract negotiations amongst other items.
  • Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
  • Enhance financial acumen and the advancement of transparency within Digi through the sharing of financial data with operational insights and actionable recommendations

 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop financial models, forecasts and reports required for decision making
  • Develop accurate reporting and Business Intelligence analytics to better inform business operations
  • Provide financial projections, analysis and recommendations when evaluating capital expenditures, new business opportunities and new strategic endeavors
  • Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts for monthly management reports

 

Accounting, Reporting, Compliance and Risk Management 

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization, inclusive of financial budgets, consolidation and reporting on the monthly management accounts
  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements both management and statutory including monthly returns to the Tax Authority.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance

 

Team Leadership

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Facilitate a collaborative, positive and authentic team culture that fosters growth and well being of the team members
  • Provide to the CEO and executive management recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Support and maximize team capabilities through mentorship and aligning with Digi’s purpose and culture

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
