Talent Acquisition Officer

Digi owns and operates an extensive telecommunications network throughout the country of Belize in wireline, wireless and data services. The company offers and uses a wide range of products and technologies that include fixed line telephone service, fixed wireless, national and international calling services, prepaid services, an advanced LTE mobile network, international voice and data roaming, Fiber internet and data services.

 

ABOUT ROLE:

Responsible for developing and implementing best-in-class selection and recruitment programmes.  Able to identify individual and organizational talent needs in line with HR people strategy and functional capability and people programmes.  Supports the Chief Human Resources Officer to develop BTL’s people plan. This position reports to the General Manager, Human Resources.

QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or other related discipline
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources or related fields
  • Knowledge and experience of Recruitment & Selection concepts and practices
  • Knowledge of HR Policies/Procedures and Employment Regulations
  • Market knowledge: sensitivity regarding other company’s best practices and trends
  • Relationship Builder – strives to maintain and cement a strong relationship with internal and external customers
  • Analytical, providing solutions tailored to the needs of the business, while remaining objective, and demonstrating flexibility
  • Adept at report writing and presenting findings
  • Ability to work extremely well with minimal supervision and under pressure
  • Possess effective oral and written communication/interpersonal skills
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Results oriented, strives to maintain high levels of individual and organizational performance.
  • Knowledge of HIRS software

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

 Talent Recruitment & Selection

  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport
  • Determine applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications
  • Attract applicants by placing job advertisements; by conducting searches through creative sourcing techniques including recruiters, newsgroup, social media, job posting boards, networking, professional networking sites, job fairs, campus recruiting, etc
  • Evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with hiring managers
  • Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses; verifying references, comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Make recommendations for hire (or not hire) and deliver/negotiate employment offers

 

Onboarding

Coordinate as requested, with Employee Relations/HR Centralized Services to ensure appropriate orientation/onboarding support is provided to new hires

Assist Employee Relations as requested with delivering orientation information sessions
Ensure that all new hire requirements are satisfied as per company standards and contract specifications
Ensure documentation for employee files are received and forwarded to HR Centralized services for ongoing maintenance
Actively seek feedback and insights from the business and candidates on opportunities to improve recruitment and onboarding experience

 

Reporting & Strategy Development

  • Generate monthly reports such as recruitment and departure, vacancies status, etc.
  • Track key recruiting metrics, such as turnover rates, sources of hire, time to fill for all roles, etc. for reporting purposes
  • In collaboration with Talent Manager monitor the progress of new hires on probation and liaise with hiring managers for decision on successful or unsuccessful probationary periods
  • Simplification and automation of the recruitment process inclusive of probationary period
  • Develop and implement reporting tools and indicators to identify insights and provide intelligence into the recruitment, onboarding and related activities and monitor, review and evaluate recruitment activities to provide evidence-based recommendations to improve processes and efficiency in recruitment service
  • Successfully execute the talent acquisition strategy. Establish recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; understand the needs of the aligned function(s) and stakeholders; meeting with business partners to discuss talent/recruitment needs
  • Improve organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks
  • Support the execution of the Talent Management Strategy
